St. Joseph County Local Emergency Planning Committee’s (LEPC) primary mission is to assist the community by providing information associated with the manufacture, use, storage and transportation of hazardous materials. The SARA Title III Community Right-To-Know act requires facilities who store, use, manufacture or transport reportable quantities of hazardous materials to report their inventories and safety procedures to the Local Emergency Planning Committee in their community, their Local Responding Fire Departments and associated State Agencies. This information is to be made available to the public. Individuals wishing to access this information in St. Joseph County may contact the St. Joseph County Local Emergency Planning Committee at 4714 Lathrop St., South Bend, IN 46628. Business hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Telephone number is 574-235-9234, Fax number is 574-235-9779 or e-mail your request. Only written requests will be honored. A minimal copy fee may be charged. The St. Joseph County Local Emergency Planning Committee conducts monthly business meetings which are open to the public.
